Demo Bait and Switch

by Mary
(Richmond, Virginia)

I called in response to a radio advertisement for a demo of the Rosetta Stone program. When I called the guy basically tried to talk me out of the demo and into purchasing the actual program. I told him I didn't want to make that kind of investment without reviewing the demo first. He basically said "OK then, goodnight." and hung up on me.

Previously I've always held Rosetta Stone in high regards, but after tonight having a salesperson try the old bait and switch (offering something for free/low price in an advertisement and when you seek that item you're directed to a more expensive item) I feel as though I have completely lost respect for the company.

I will never buy Rosetta Stone products.
