Didn't work for me

For me, this is probably the worst language system I have ever tried. Why? Because I am a visual learner, and have a strong visual memory; I like to see a word or a sentence spelled to memorize it. The set of CD's that I received, Pimsleur Cantonese, had no writing materials coming with it, and the whole course was pretty much useless for me.

I'm sorry Pimsleur did not work for you; I have had huge success with it, first, with Italian (once even being mistaken for an Italian in Rome because of my pronunciation!) then Greek, and now German. I know you say you are a "visual" learner, but please remember: You did learn your native language STRICTLY aurally. Perhaps if you give it another chance you will have better success.
