from a language learn, 2 thumbs up

Hey. I am well qualified to review this because I have studied a few langugaes. Specifically, I studied spanish in high school for a couple years, studied spanish in costa rica for a month in a language school, and have lived in Bolivia for 2 years, studied intensive chinese in college for a year, and studied thai in a thai school in thailand for a couple weeks.

i think the rosetta stone program is great. the key to remembeing a language is understanding. and to understand you have to figure it out yourself. that is why repition work is so bad, no understanding. RS uses cute tricks like defining an apple for us, then defining a pear, then showing us a picture of a watermelon with a choice between the word for apple, pear, and another unfamiliar word...

inmost of the problems rosetta gives, they are logic problems, and some piece of hte puzzle is missing. that means you need to apply your understanding of the language, the words you aleady know to understand the sentence and solve the problems...

it is very had to find a teacher who does these things correctly. also i don't think this will leave me speaking fluently or understanding fluently, but it will help a lot.

personally i hate the S program cause it is on a computer and I much more enjoy interacting with other people. that isn't a knock against the program though.
