get more out of your language course

by Gordon
(Paris)

A lot of what we cover in a language course is soon forgotten. One thing I started doing this year was learn all the new vocabulary I came across in my french course. I did this by learning the words in the exact phrases they were used in during class. This not only helped me learn a lot more vocabulary, but more importantly each time I re-read the phrases, they reminded me of the material we covered in class. To actually learn the words, I started using a free online application called vocaber. This lets you enter in your own words and include a phrase with each one.
