Learning French to Study

I had an opportunity to go to France to study engineering for two years. I started to learn French sometime before. In my case, I think French is easier than English because I speak Portuguese (A Latin language as same as French). But what really gave me the fluency was living in France and having to speak French everyday. So if you want to learn a language I suggest to travel to a country where this language is spoken.
