Beware! Rosetta Stone's policy is that they will not support any Rosetta Stone software that was not purchased directly from Rosetta Stone or a Rosetta Stone authorized dealer. That means that you can not "activate" the software, even if you have an activation code. Rosetta Stone's policy is that the license to use the software does not transfer with any third party sale.
I bought my Rosetta Stone software on e-bay. The software was delivered (new, in the box) directly from Rosetta Stone, along with the "activation code," user manual, etc. But, Rosetta Stone customer service tells me that the e-bay seller is not an authorized Rosetta Stone dealer so they will not activate the software even though they admit that they have my Rosetta Stone registration information on file, including the legitimate activation code.
Here is the last e-mail I received from Rosetta Stone.
Thank you for providing documentation of your purchase. Unfortunately, the company who sold the program to you is not an authorized reseller of Rosetta Stone. Since your product is not a legitimate copy of Rosetta Stone, we will not be able to give you access to activate your program again.
We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to report this unauthorized sale of Rosetta Stone. It is unfortunate when potential customers unknowingly purchase products in which the license has been compromised.
We appreciate any information you can provide regarding the illegitimate resale of Rosetta Stone products. The information you offer is vital to our operations as we strive to protect our client base from pirated, outdated, and otherwise unserviceable products carrying our company name.
