Only helpful with vocabulary...

I used the Rosetta Stone through the Army access. I have been working on German for a while and the only good thing about Rosetta Stone, was that it allows you to increase your vocabulary. I like to have pronunciation guides for the letters I am attempting to read. I also like to have a chart with the basic ways to conjugate verbs. Rosetta stone only offers a small introduction to grammar when it fits in. You pretty much never use the "I", "We" or "You" forms of the verbs, just the "He/She/It" and "They" forms.

Again, this is good if you want to practice and acquire some more vocabulary. But NEVER rely on it to truly learn the language. Get supplemental material or even better take a structured course. I also have a number of German DVDs I watch repeatedly and pick up more words and grammar that way.
