ROSETTA FRENCH

by mike
(nyc)

I have studied french off and on since junior high (I am 35 now). My french is very broken and bought level 1 and 2 to refresh myself and rebuild all that I lost. Having been complimented by many french people for my pronounciation skills in the past, I found the voice recognition feature to be very frustrating, as I feel I am in fact pronouncing it correctly. My first impression is that the lesson is affected by the quality of the microphone headset. Did the system hear it. Did it not? Did I miss pronounce? Very frustrating however the vocab is settling in very quickly.

I strongly encourage focusing on the program as your base but do not be afraid to utilize other sources to confirm your what you;ve learned is accurate.

I also cannot stress enough the value of watching films/tv in the language you are studying. There is a colloquial impact that Rosetta and books cannot replicate in that respect.
