Spanish

by Lillian
(USA)

Like all highschool students in the area, I am currently learning Spanish. I chose this language because I thought it would be the most useful (I already know Mandarin Chinese and English), but the more I learned, the more graceful this language sounds.

Although sometimes learning the grammar parts of Spanish is frustrating, I'm always really excited when I understand what other people are saying. My original Spanish teacher went on maternity leave, so we have a substitute teacher. She moved to the US from Chile, and her Spanish is flawless and the latino accent sounds very cool when she speaks English.

Taking Spanish class is even more rewarding now that we get to learn about the culture and foods in Chile. In fact, last friday we made and ate delicious empanadas. Learning Spanish has been a very rewarding experience.
